Just to let all the local Utah people know, I was at Good Earth yesterday and they are selling a 1 lb. package of strawberries for .99 cents, but what is even sweeter is that they are selling an entire flat (8 lbs!) for only $6.99! It's a great time to make jam at that price, or even have some awesome Easter-morning crepes. My location (American Fork) sold out, but I know last night the Orem store had plenty! Check other locations and call beforehand. I'm sure they will sell out quickly.
Also, while you are there, snag a 2 lb bag of Nature's Path Organic Heritage High Fiber cereal. At the AF location, it is in some boxes right when you walk in. It is on sale for $4.99 (down from $10) and at the checkout, they give you a packet of coupons. On the second page, there is a $2 off coupon so you can get the cereal for $3. Not bad for 2 lbs of a good-for-you cereal.

Green Bee Produce

I'm so excited about my new find that I just have to tell you all about it! My family eats a lot of produce during the week and though I have never been part of a food co-op before, I have looked into several of them. I know that you have to put in so many volunteer hours in order to get your box of food. Well, no more! I found Green Bee Produce through a KSL listing and decided to look into it. The Bee Box Classic is only $18.50. I emailed the company and asked about contracts to sign or requirement to order every week and got a speedy response that there is none of that involved.
The produce comes out of Arizona every week on a truck and has several different drop-offs around the valley. Check the website for locations and order deadlines (mine is today by midnight). They can't always promise organic produce, but they try to get it whenever they can. Basically the concept is to cut out the grocer, making the produce much fresher than found in the stores.
Next I called the local pickup location (yes, in my own little city!) and talked to the lady who has done it, wanting to know how legit it was. She talked to me for about 20 minutes and needless to say, I was convinced and decided to give it a go this last week. I ordered last Monday and picked up my HUGE box of produce on Saturday. I feel like my grocery shopping is already done for the week! Here is what I got for $18.50:

10 apples (red delicious and cameo)
i huge head of romaine lettuce (delish!)
4 Roma tomatoes
1 lb of carrots
5 pears
1 large bag of green, seedless grapes
1 bunch bananas
1 pineapple
5 lbs. of oranges
2 red onions

I was blown away! So far the things I've tasted from the box are of great quality and they seem to guarantee their quality so if you are not satisfied, they will either refund or replace or both! Selfishly, I'm trying to get the word out so they don't cancel the location so close to me! It's a fairly new program here in UT so if you live here or in AZ give it a try!

Another $10 Princess and the Frog Coupon AND Toy Story 1 & 2

I thought I was out of luck with the $10 off coupon for Princess and the Frog Blu-ray combo pack since it expired last weekend, BUT I found another one that goes through this week. I thought I'd let you all know about it. Plus, also on the same link there are $5 off coupons for Toy Story 1 and 2 that come out today. OR, if you already own the DVD (and, come on, who doesn't?) are a Disney Rewards member, you can enter your code from your original DVD and print out a $10 off coupon for the Blu-ray upgrade (which also includes a DVD and a movie ticket for Toy Story 3, at least if you buy it at Target or Toys R Us--not sure where else they have that deal; we got ours from Target since they have also included a DVD-ROM game as well). It has been a while since I have posted a Friday Favorite. Life has been crazy lately! Because it has been so crazy I have needed an extra pep in my step and I, along with my sister, have discovered Vitamin Water (Energy flavor). It works! It gives your body more of a natural energy, unlike caffeine would. I am able to get a lot more done when I have one. It's not something I can't live without each day, but if I feel sluggish, it might just be the added pick-me-up that I need. Is it psychological? Not sure. Try it and let me know! The other flavors are great as well. Tasty and you get your daily vitamins--no added colors! A bottle usually costs about a $1, although if you are lucky you can find it for .50 on sale.

I love nature. I love being in nature, smelling nature and especially beholding the beauty of the world around me. Although we don't get the opportunity enough, my family enjoys camping, hiking, etc. That's why today I decided to highlight U.S. National Parks. If you are spontaneous enough to duck out to your nearest national park by tomorrow, you are in luck because this weekend is a fee-free weekend at all U.S. National Parks. Having been in an accident yesterday (nothing serious, but jarred enough to cause damage to my car and many tears from the children) I dedicate this post to the Britax car seat. Having done my research at the time of it's purchase I found the advantages of this brand far outweighs other brands. It is a European brand and is pricier than others, but worth it in my opinion. Other car seats are only tested with front and rear collision tests, whereas Britax tests front, rear and both sides. The ratings always seem to be high. One characteristic I love is that somehow they have manufactured the seats to keep the straps straight. You ever have a car seat where the straps get all twisted and won't remain flat on your child's chest? In the 5 years I've owned one, I have never had mine twist. No lie. I feel like my child is safer knowing the professionals have put it through rigorous testing and it still passed with flying colors. Life has been hectic the last few weeks, but I will be better. I wanted to get my Friday Favorite in.

My dear friend introduced me to a new way of eating: no hydrogenated oils, no artificial colors or preservatives. It is HARD to find natural things in our country--isn't that sad? Anyway, I digress. She also introduced me to the best licorice in the world! Not only is it delicious, but it is absolutely natural. Australian-made, soft, super-yummy, Darrell Lea is a must in my house! The only place I've been able to find it is Target and it will run you about $3 for a small bag. It's worth every bite! Strawberry is my favorite, but the site says there are plenty of other flavors out there. Pick one up or let me know if you find them anywhere else!

I've decided to post a "favorite" of mine each Friday, because I have so many favorite things! And I'm not talking raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, though those are all very nice things. I guess I'm talking STUFF. It could be anything from a product, a website or a store, but I thought it might be fun.

My first favorite thing I'm highlighting is my newly-found facial moisturizer. I love it! I have tried several and with my sensitive, dry skin, a good one was hard to come by. I had a coupon (you know me!)so I decided to try Borghese, picked up by Kirkland, so found at Costco. While I was there, deciding between this and Oil of Olay, the lady next to me said her friend's dermatologist told her to get Borghese (I know, great reference huh?). Anyway, it has done wonders for my face and dare I say, my skin feels and looks younger? It will cost you about $20 at Costco (unless you wait for the coupon) and it seems much cheaper than many other brands. You only need a tiny bit for full coverage too.
