Anyone else need a vacation?

I came across a few deals for travel that I had to put up--crazy cheap! This is the time of year I itch for someplace warmer than here and these trips are SO much warmer than here!

TravelZoo is offering a deal to Hawaii that is the best I've ever seen. Flying out of either LA or San Fransisco, you can go to Hawaii for a 4 day, 3 night getaway round trip for (are you ready?) $299! WHAT? Seriously that is an insanely cheap price, for airfare alone, but this includes beachfront resort accommodations to one of 3 resorts--your choice. This deal is only on for a few more days and travel must be between Feb. 1 and March 31 and is to the island of Oahu. For only $30 or so more you can go to Maui or Kauai (the 2 islands I haven't been to yet!).

Deal Number 2 was also found through TravelZoo from AeroMexico. You can now fly out of Denver to Mexico for $199 round trip. Service starts Feb. 1 and goes through Dec. 10. Cities to choose from: Mexico City (nonstop), Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Leon/Bajio (Guanajuato), Guadalajara and Oaxaca. Taxes are approximately $100 and you must book by Feb. 5.

SO, if you are needing someplace warm to go about right now (I sure am!) take a looky at these options! Happy travels!

Jewelry Anyone?

I got this great site off the Pinching Your Pennies website (great site, btw--check it out here). I really can't believe it! It is designer jewelry for free! Well, ok you have to pay $6.99 shipping, but there are some great pieces of jewelry for a great deal. It highlights 4 pieces of jewelry at a time and it switches out every 5 minutes or so. It is called Silver Jewelry Club and you must check it out! Some really pretty stuff . . .

Local Cheap Eats

Want to cut costs, but still indulge once in a while by going out to eat? I sure do! I came across an article in the Salt Lake Tribune a few weeks back that shared some places to eat in town that are offering some deep discounts. I thought I'd share those with you local followers:

Lugano
3364 S. 2300 E. SLC
Mondays, get braised "meatball" with spaghetti dinner only $9. Wednesdays baked pasta or seasonal pizza from wood-burning oven, also only $9.

Matsu Restaurant and Sushi Bar

California rolls only $1.50 on Monday nights. Other selected sushi rolls are 50% off Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30-9 p.m. dine-in only.

Sapporo

Selected appetizers and sushi are discounted from 5 to 10 p.m.

Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill
Many locations along the Wasatch front--every Tuesday is "fish taco night" where you can get each fish taco for only $1.24 from 2:30 until close.

The Old Spaghetti Factory
Trolley Square, SLC, Taylorsville, Orem
Through January you can get 40% off the price of classic pasta meals, starting at 5 p.m. These "Anniversary Meals" will cost you between $4.79 and $6.49 and include salad, bread drink and ice cream. Not bad!

Random stuff

REI had Men's Nike Remora III swim goggles for only $3.83. You can have them shipped to a local store for free.

Get a free $1 off printable coupon at Target for Pepperidge Farm Tim Tam cookies here.

Walmart has a cute Crayola keyboard and mouse for $10--my kids love to play school and feel big with the computer and this is a cute alternative to a regular one.

I've learned that as I get older, my feet need to be pampered with good shoes. I used to work in shoe sales and I know from firsthand experience that Rockport shoes are well made and comfortable. 6pm is having an early sale on some cute sandals. Now might be the time to get them before the rush of spring and summer hit. The ones above come in 4 colors and are only $24.95 and there are several more at that price, so take a look.

Resolution Helps

So, has anyone set a New Year's resolution to get in shape? Here are a few things that might help:

Graveyardmall.com has a cool 2-pack heart monitor watch deal. The watches also have alarm and stopwatch features. One yellow, one red--maybe his/her? (What do you think honey? Should we get some to motivate us into working out together?)

Need some new workout tunes? REI (I know, weird place for music) has 10 free downloads right now. Don't know much about them, so don't blame me if they are bad!

Have a resolution to get fatter? Not likely, but Hickory Farms is having a huge 75% off their gift baskets of sausage, cheese and such.

Personally, I have a resolution just to stay warm in this blasted cold. American Eagle helps out with these cute, warm, fuzzy boots for only $19.99. While you are there, check out their clearance that is up to 70% off starting today.

New Year, Falling Prices

It seems like everyone is dropping their prices, trying to stay in business these days. I thought I'd give you a few here that I thought interesting today:

I've talked about 6pm, the shoe place, before but they are running some online, one-day only deals for today, Wednesday and Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (clever right?). Check it out here if you want!

Ok, you HAD to have noticed the falling prices of the plasma tvs, right? UEC, the Hitachi refurbish site, has some great deals right now and it includes free shipping. Here are a few: Hitachi HD1080 42" Plasma HDTV for $598 shipped. Or, how about a Hitachi HD1080 50" Plasma HDTV for $776, free shipping. Or a 55" Plasma HDTV for $1132. There are many other brands available too.

Costco also has a 46" Sceptre 1080p LCD TV for $700, plus $70 shipping making it $770. Nonmembers are charged a 5% surcharge making it $805.

iTunes has dropped their prices on many of their songs to .69 cents, so check that out.
